Hi. Welcome! I am Job Christiansen, an eclectic inquisitive passionate about knowing why things are the way they are and then working to fix them (the work of redemption). I hope you will join me on my journey of life-long learning. I am not perfect, and I make mistakes, but we are all broken souls yearning for ultimate restoration in Jesus Christ.
My original concept was learn, grow, share. I love learning, it is what helps us grow, and felt that the final piece to cement that growth was to share it with others. In so sharing, that shared piece becomes a piece of learning for someone else, jump-starting their growth cycle as well. This was to be a platform for my learning and growth, as the final key component of sharing it with the world.
But I felt something was missing from this formula. If the ultimate goal was simply to share, then the idea seemed to fall flat. Then I read Beyond a Biblical Worldview by Roger Erdvig, and the pieces fell into place. As I processed Erdvig’s ideas and incorporated them with my own, I realized that sharing was not the end goal, just as learning was not really the beginning. Sharing is simply a subset of the process of growth, but ultimately (as believers) we need to orient ourselves with God’s will, and align with His will. Theologically this process is identified as sanctification. Jesus completes this final stage, but we can be active participants in this journey by seeking Him, growing through learning and sharing, which will position our hearts to be sanctified by Him.
